This won't be long; right now I am seriously overwhelmed with dread and sadness and I tend to be very insular when upset and go into hermit mode. My doggies aren't doing really well. My big guy's (shepherd/lab mix) epilepsy is getting worse and worse and we're trying to tweak his medication while keeping him comfortable. My little terrier girl has us really worried. She had what we thought was a simple gastro problem but after a couple of weeks of following the vet's diet and medication prescriptions, she is getting much worse and there is blood involved. She is being tested for cancer, so we are understandably terrified.
Since 2001 we have lost 5 cats - 2 had congenital heart conditions and 3 died of kidney failure/old age. We adore our animals and each loss had just wrecked me. I am terribly worried about my daughter as "Baby Tarot" is her special little doggie girl and therey are devoted to one another - if we lose her, Geneva will be devastated. I just can't imagine life without Tarot's sweet little face.
We also had some expensive car issues so now finances are not doing well and I am in that terrible place of having to balance vet treatments against our bank account. I am so depressed right now I can hardly stand it.
Thank goodness for the gym and for running - it is keeping me busy. Right now I am running 4x/week, spinning 2x/week, and doing strength/toning 5x/week. For an hour or two a day I am wearing out my body and emptying my mind and it is a wonderful respite from all the worrying.
Love to all.
Tammie,
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about your challenges. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
It is so sad to see animals become ill and not know what to do. And some treatments may offer more comfort to us humans than to our pets.
Our family will keep our fingers and paws crossed that Tarots issues are relatively minor and very treatable. And of course we will hope that your other doggies seizures are resolved soon.
Wow. You are going through quite a bit right now. My thoughts are with you (and your family). I'm glad you can find comfort through your exercise - a benefit not often mentioned.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear you having so many troubles at once.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you said hello on my blog and I'm glad you have running to get some relief from everything!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for everything you've got going on right now. We lost four ferrets in less than two years and it broke our hearts and with that I can kind of understand how you feel.
ReplyDeleteAs said about I'm glad you've got your exercise to keep your mind occupied. I'll be think of you.
