There is a member of the North Face endurance running team, Kami Semick, who I think is da' bomb. I saw her pic in a print ad for North Face and thought "what a cool-looking chick". She might not be the "standard" for beauty, but I think it's awesome that somebody our age (we were both born in '66) isn't that concerned with her crows feet et al. Girls half her age would be lucky to be in her shape! She is who I picture when I imagine what I want to look like someday - I doubt I will ever really get there with my child-bearing hips (which is really a misnomer, because even with my wide pelvis the doctor STILL had to forcibly remove my itty bitty 5 lbs. daughter) but it gives me something to strive for.
Geneva is better every day and I think she will be OK for her recital. She has been using my facial steamer with some eucalyptus oil a couple of times a day and man, does that clear out the sinuses. Jon's ear still hasn't popped and he can't hear out of it, but at least he is now on antibiotics so hopefully he will have some relief soon. I actually felt human this morning, so I know I am just on the verge of being healthy again. Sunday will be the first run in a record 2 weeks and I am anxious to see how it goes - I have not gone that long without running since I started up again in October. Wow, that's hard to believe...I guess I really have left part of my couch-potatoedness behind.
Wait. You're in the low 120s and you want to lose FIFTEEN more pounds?
ReplyDeleteAre you one of the Keebler elves, sister? Because unless you're one of the stars of Little People, Big World (one of Teh 'Bride's obsessions ... sigh), you don't sound to me as though there's much left of you to lose.
I could end this comment by calling you "Fat-@$$" just to mess with you, but I'm classier than that.
HELLS, no I'm not!
Fat-@$$!1!
The word verification I got for that last comment was "ductabra", which I consider FAR more offensive than "Fat-@$$"!
ReplyDeleteWhat is your blog trying to say to me with its "ductabra"?
A ductabra would have worked better on my half marathon than the sports bra I wore - cheaper, too. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm short - only 5'1" and as much as I would love to say that I am "big boned", when I did the wrist measurement test I am actually small framed. A couple of weight charts I have seen show my ideal weight to be 105 lbs. It seems crazy that I could ever be there, but I would love to try it (and I'm sure my running would speed up). Hubby doesn't love the idea, though - claims my Fat-@$$ gives him more cushion for the pushin'. But if mama ain't happy...
Have a great run this Sunday! I'm traveling around with my child Sat and Sunday and hope to grab a few miles but won't get to go long...so run a few for me. ;-)
